MMC shuffles top executives, president Osamu Masuko to become chairman
Masuko to be replaced by Aikawa
A report indicates that Mitsubishi Motors Corporation President Osamu Masuko will be stepping aside from his leadership of Japan's number two automaker. Masuko has led MMC for the last 9 years.
Then report from Reuters states that Masuko will be the Chairman of the company, replacing Takashi Nishioka who will resign his post.
Masuko's post as president of MMC will reportedly be assumed by Tetsuro Aikawa, the current managing director of Mitsubishi Motors.
Masuko had led MMC through troubled waters for almost a decade. Globally the Japanese automaker has had difficulty in sales though profitability has increased.
Locally, however, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation has a strong presence, maintaining its number two ranking in terms of sales behind Toyota. The surge in MMPC sales can be attributed to the introductions of the Mirage hatchback and sedan, as well as refreshed variants for the Montero Sport.
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will reportedly change leadership on April 1st.
