Truck lane in C5 and Katipunan stretched for six more months
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has extended the implementation of the truck-lane scheme along C5 and Katipunan Avenue after noticing the decline in road accidents caused by trucks in the area.
Approved by the Special Traffic Committee of the Metro Manila Council, the resolution becomes effective August 1, 2015 until January 31 of 2016 ensuring that all cargo trucks with a gross weight of more than 4,500 kilos will only be allowed to use the second lane from the left everyday including Sundays and holidays from 10AM to 5PM and from 10PM to 6AM only.
The decision to extend the truck lane policy comes is based on research indicating a decline in the number of road accidents in the area since the policy’s implementation.
