Motorists, brace yourself next week as the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) closes down Roxas Boulevard and other nearby areas for the 50th anniversary celebration of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

On August 8, 2017 (Tuesday), the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from P. Burgos to Buendia will be closed from 2PM to 9PM.

As an alternate route, motorists headed south should turn right to P. Burgos before Luneta Park and go straight to Finance Road before turning right on Taft Avenue, left on Buendia and then right back on to Roxas Boulevard or Macapagal Boulevard or Diokno Boulevard.

The road through Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) and Sofitel are off limits to all except ASEAN delegates and guests from August 2 to 8, 2017.

A total truck ban shall also be implemented along Roxas Boulevard from Buendia Avenue to P. Burgos on August 8.

Northbound trucks are directed to turn right along EDSA and then left to South Superhighway in order to get to the port area.

Various events and activities including the grand parade and lighting of the ASEAN lantern will happen on August 8 at 3PM and it will be open to the public.
