For use only by light vehicles
After opening four access roads to public motorists late last year - Bonifacio Naval Station in Taguig City, the Veterans Memorial Medical Center and Camp Aguinaldo in QC, and a portion of EDSA near Sen. Gil Puyat - the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is set to open three more to ease congestion along EDSA.
An access road from the South Superhighway near the Philippine National Railways' (PNR) Magallanes Station in Makati City is set to be opened for motorists going to EDSA.
The MMDA is currently coordinating with the Philippine National Railways (PNR) in order for a wall along the loading bay to be demolished so that vehicular traffic would be able to bypass the Chino Roces extension going to EDSA.
“This will help ease the congestion of vehicles in the Southern Luzon Expressway (SLEX) going to EDSA,” said MMDA General Manager Thomas Orbos.
Also set to be opened is another one in Vertis North Quezon City for northbound light vehicles passing EDSA going to North Ave. and Balintawak.
And finally, an access road will also be opened between Quezon Avenue and North Avenue stations of the Metro Railway Transit-3 to give motorists a shortcut going to Trinoma.
