Expect more organized and efficient service from your Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) as the agency starts off 2017 with the right equipment and benefits for its traffic personnel.
The MMDA is to supply traffic enforcers with some 2,000 new hand-held radio phones to make communication clearer and faster resulting in more efficient traffic management.
These new units, donated by an anonymous donor from the private sector, will complement the existing communications assets of the MMDA.
“These hand-held radio phones will be of great help to our traffic enforcers especially in managing traffic flow in Metro Manila,” said MMDA General Manager Thomas Orbos.
Also, in order to boost the morale of the traffic enforcers, each personnel of the agency who will be injured in the line of duty will be insured of hospitalization expenses of up to Php 40,000. Funds for these were also donated to the MMDA by two companies.
“The MMDA leadership wants to assure field personnel that they will get all of the support the agency could give them to ensure that they will deliver quality public service,” Orbos added.
According to Orbos, these donations from various companies show that the private sector appreciates the effort made by the Inter-Agency Council on Traffic (I-ACT) in reducing traffic congestion in Metro Manila.
