Mutsuhiro Oshikiri to lead MMPC starting August 1

Last month, Mitsubishi Motors announced sweeping changes for the Asia-Pacific region. In their announcement, Mutsuhiro Oshikiri will be heading Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) as Yoshiaki Kato moves to Australia the Chief Executive Coordinator of Mitsubishi Motors Australia Ltd (MMAL).

Last night, MMPC made the official announcement of the appointment of Oshikiri as the new head of Mitsubishi's local operations. He starts his duties as MMPC CEO on August 1, 2017. Prior to his move to the Philippines, Oshikiri was the CEO of MMAL and held that post for five years. Oshikiri has been part of MMC since 1980 and started out under the Export Service Department. Since 1987, Oshikiri has been handling various roles around the world, namely in Australia, the Caribbean, and Thailand.

Kato meanwhile ends his legacy in MMPC after two years on several key milestones. Under his leadership, MMPC officially moved its manufacturing plant and offices from Cainta, Rizal to Santa Rosa, Laguna. Notable to mention also was the realization of MMPC’s participation on the CARS program under Kato’s presidency. MMPC also became the first automotive manufacturer to receive the approval from the Department of Trade and Industry – Board of Investments to participate in CARS program.

With a new CEO, MMPC expects that sales will continue to surge together with an improved market share under the leadership of Oshikiri. Oshikiri brings to the country 37 years of experience in MMC and over 30 years of handling various international operations.
