MPTC (Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation) just launched a new payment method in CAVITEX (CAVITE Expressway) dubbed as “EasyDrive”. It is a tamper-proof, paper thin and battery-less sticker that uses RFID technology.
The EasyDrive sticker is placed on the inside right part of the windshield. The EasyDrive sticker is not waterproof that’s why it is required to placed inside the vehicle.
At the toll plaza, the car will be detected by a sensor that will activate the radio/antenna to identify the vehicle and check/deduct the available prepaid balance.
MPTC President Ramoncito Fernandez explained that EasyDrive will reduce queuing in toll plazas thus providing a better customer satisfaction. It will provide faster toll transaction at 3 to 4 seconds per vehicle.
CIC (CAVITEX Infrastructure Corp.) together with the PLDT installed fiber optic infrastructure along CAVITEX to facilitate toll collection, communication and security. Other upgrades such as CCTV will soon be installed. Moreover, the improvement of telecommunication in CAVITEX is also on its way to be improved.
CAVITEX is known to always be first in innovation and for using the first electronic toll collection (E-TAP).
EasyDrive stickers are available at CAVITEX’s customer service center in Paranaque for PHP 200 for class A vehicles, plus an initial minimum load of PHP 200.
MPTC plans to integrate the EasyDrive electronic toll collection system with the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in the near future.
