Order Modellista kits now, wait for Camry to launch
As it is, the Toyota Camry a stylish executive sedan. It also has several luxurious features, making it a staple model on driveways and garages inside gated communities. Despite the bolder design of the current-generation model, some might find it a bit lacking in the styling department.
Fortunately, Toyota's in-house customizer, Modellista, now offers styling kits to make the recently updated Camry sedan look even fancier.
Modellista has two lines of kits for the 2021 Toyota Camry available – Smart Shine Style and Bright Elegance Style. The former features a more subtle upgrade comprised of chrome trimmings. Meanwhile, the latter gives the sedan a more aggressive look courtesy of a wraparound body kit.
Starting with Modellista's Smart Shine Style line, the parts included are chrome trims on the front grille, doors, and below the taillights and extend onto the trunk. There's also a chrome trim on the integrated trunk spoiler. It may not be to everyone's liking, but it does add some bling to the Camry, especially in black. Paired with the 17-inch wheels, it gives the sedan a subtle but posh look.
If you want to make the Camry stand out, then the Modellista Bright Elegance Style line is the better choice. Unlike the Smart Shine Style, this line of kit features a front lip, side skirts, and a rear skirt. Along with its 19-inch wheels, the kit gives the mid-size sedan a hint of sportiness without being too aggressive.
Unfortunately, the Gazoo Racing kits for the Toyota Camry is not applicable for the Camry model sold locally. That's because the Camry abroad has a sport version dubbed WS in Japan and XSE in the U.S. What we have here is the X or XLE version.
Price? The kits themselves aren't that expensive. All parts of the sportier Bright Elegance Style line round up to around JPY 171,600 (PHP 79,000), while the Smart Shine Style parts cost JPY 168,300 (PHP 77,000). The most expensive part would have to be the 19-inch wheels, retailing for JPY 404,800 (PHP 185,300) a set; that's without shipping.
We don't know when Toyota Motor Philippines will launch the facelifted Camry locally. But, at least you can now order parts ahead of time. So once the vehicle debuts locally, you can just fit them on.
