Your new Audi A8 is ready boss
Audi may be focused on crossovers and electric vehicles lately, but they haven't forgotten about their sedans. The German marque recently introduced the refreshed A8 to keep it updated for the 2022 model year. It comes with several design changes inside and out, together with new tech updates.
Starting with the exterior, Audi made a few subtle changes to the 2022 A8. Easily the most obvious change is the grille, which is wider than before and features a new design pattern. Audi also added more chrome to the front end – from the grille surround to the corner intakes. The bumper itself is also new, featuring a more upright layout. Rounding up the changes are the new digital matrix LED headlights.
At the rear, the changes to the full-size sedan are more even more subtle. There's a new set of digital OLED taillights that now come standard, featuring new graphics in line with current Audi models. Meanwhile, the bumper has been slightly tweaked to match the updated front end. Rounding up the changes are the new wheels and color options. For the first time, Audi will also be offering an optional S-Line package to give the sedan a more aggressive look.
The interior of the outgoing A8 is already laden with tech and high-end materials. As such, Audi decided to leave it mostly untouched. The biggest update would be the new optional heads-up display. Meanwhile, the center console now benefits from two touchscreens measuring 10.1-inch and 8.6-inches. Behind the front seats are another pair of 10.1-inch displays.
Customers that opt for the more executive A8 L will benefit from a stretched-out center console and even a footrest that comes with massage and heating functions. A Bang & Olufsen 23-speaker system provides high-quality audio while on the move.
The 2022 A8 L is available with a variety of engine options, including a 3.0-liter V6 and a 4.0-liter V8. The former outputs 340 PS and 500 Nm torque, while the latter produces 460 PS and 660 Nm torque. Audi says a diesel and a plug-in hybrid variant will be available at later dates.
Together with the A8, Audi also introduced the updated S8 sedan. It's very much the same as the facelift A8 but without the chrome and a sportier grille. At the heart of the 2022 S8 is the familiar twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that produces 571 PS and 800 Nm torque, allowing the large sedan to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.
With the Audi A8 now out in Europe, it will only be a matter of time before Audi Philippines offers the luxury sedan locally.
