For the first time in Philippine motoring history, a Chinese automaker has broken into the top 10 in the overall industry sales charts. They've also managed to place themselves in third on the truck sales standings. That company is Foton, and they're hungry for more.

Keen to build on the success they had last year, Foton is set for an even bigger expansion this 2019. The company is aiming to add more dealerships in the country, along with eight new models that will be revealed soon.

In 2018, Foton gained three new dealership networks in the country. The new dealerships are located in Cainta, Talisay (Cebu), and Bauang (La Union). This year, however, they will be opening a lot more than three dealerships across the nation.

By the end of 2019, Foton is targeting the opening and operation of 34 dealerships nationwide. They plan to add eight this year and one has already been inaugurated. The newest Foton dealership is Puerto Princesa, Palawan, and it opened its doors on January 17. With one down, Foton will be opening seven more in 2019. Foton dealerships will soon land in Congressional Avenue, Pasig, Bacoor, Metro Clark, Bacolor, Tagbilaran, and Iloilo.

As for the product range, it will be a mix of trucks and vans. For the trucks, there will be the Gratour Midi Truck, EST-M Cargo 32-Footer, Hurricane EST-M 20-Footer Dump Truck, Hurricane EST-M 22-Footer, and Hurricane EST-M 25-Footer. As for vans, the Gratour range gets an overhaul with three variants. Gratour Mini Van, Gratour TM 1.5, and the Gratour iM6 Comfort Edition. These new models will make their debut at the 2019 Manila International Auto Show on April 4 to 7.
