More stylish, high-tech 2022 Audi Q5 arrives in PH

2022 Audi Q5 S Line starts at PHP 4,950,000

It may have been a long wait, but the refreshed Audi Q5 is now in the Philippines. The updated model made its global debut last June 2020, and with it comes new tech, improved powertrains, and subtle design changes to the popular crossover.

Starting with the design, Audi didn't give the 2022 Q5 a major makeover. Instead, they opted for more subtle styling changes to keep the crossover looking fresh for the next few years. These include new LED headlights styled similar to the RS6 and newer Audi models, a revised single-frame grille, and a more aggressive-looking bumper.

While the front end sees a bit of change, the updates to the rear are more subtle. The most obvious change would be the new OLED taillights. It's complemented by a new bumper with an integrated diffuser, further enhancing the crossover's already sporty looks. Rounding up the exterior changes are the new wheels measuring 20- or 21-inches. Local models are available in the sportier S Line variant with the blacked-out exterior trim.

Step inside, and the cabin looks similar to the outgoing model. However, Audi did update it with more tech including a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. In front of the driver sits the updated 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as part of the Audi Virtual Cockpit. Other features include new leather upholstery and wireless Apple CarPlay.

For the local market, Audi Philippines is offering the 2022 Q5 with two engine options – a diesel and a gasoline mill. The diesel is a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four that produces 204 PS and 400 Nm, while the gasoline mill is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that outputs 265 PS and 370 Nm torque. Both engines are paired with a 7-speed S-Tronic transmission powering all four wheels via Quattro permanent all-wheel drive.
