Motor Image Pilipinas to hold Subaru Impreza Challenge in August
Since its introduction in 2008, the previous generation Subaru Impreza was welcomed with mixed feelings from consumers, some say that it looks a bit too soft for an Impreza, but nonetheless, it sold with good numbers, and probably is the most common Impreza that roams the streets of the Metro Manila.
After the formal launch of the XV at the 2012 Manila International Auto Show a couple of months ago, now comes the 2012 Subaru Impreza which will surely be a hit given that it now looks more aggressive.
Exterior and Interior changes
The fourth-generation Impreza now has an even more aggressive look care of the bigger and hexagonal front grille and incorporating Subaru's distinctive hawk eye headlamp design. A tamer treatment was done for the rear incorporating design cues from the XV, which shares the same platform.
The interior was improved further from the previous model and now has chrome accents incorporated in selected areas including the sporty instrument cluster. Bluetooth, AUX, and USB connectivity are also made available for your multimedia needs. A multi-function display sitting on top of the dashboard displays vital information about the vehicle including fuel consumption and an eco-drive indicator to guide the driver to get a better fuel mileage.
The 2012 Impreza of course comes with a 2.0-liter Boxer engine rated to churn out 150 PS of power and 196 Newton-meters of torque and is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed Lineartronic CVT automatic transmission which transfer the engine's power to all 4 wheels efficiently.
The Impreza 2.0i comes fitted with 16-inch alloy wheels while the 2.0i-S comes fitted with a bigger 17-inch wheels.
