After making its world debut at this year's Indonesia International Motor Show, the all-new Suzuki Carry is ready to move your business in the Philippines.
Say hello to the 2020 Suzuki Carry. Designed to meet the needs of commercial businesses, as well as small & medium enterprises (SMEs), the 2020 Carry is bigger, more robust, and is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine.
“Filipinos are a hard-working people. The all-new Suzuki Carry is engineered to match the level of dedication Filipinos put in their businesses. We designed this new workhorse vehicle to deliver any business requirements with efficiency and power to do more. With the all-new Suzuki Carry, we extend the Suzuki Way of Life! to small and medium enterprises and be a part of their journey to success,” said Keiichi Suzuki, SPH Director and Automobile Division General Manager.
Starting with its looks, the 2020 Carry gets a more prominent front fascia. It gets wider halogen headlights, along with a new-style two-bar grill up front. It even gets a refreshed front bumper design that is painted in the same color as the body itself.
Size-wise, the all-new Carry is bigger than the diesel-powered Super Carry in every aspect. It measures 4195mm long (+395), 1765mm wide (+203), and 1910mm tall (+27).Wheelbase, on the other hand, comes in at 2205mm. As for the bed itself, it's 2375mm long (+365), 1660mm wide (+75), and is 355mm tall (+55). It also has 22 rope-hooks which can secure any loose cargo during transit. The Carry is also capable of carrying a maximum payload of 940 kg, while ground clearance is rated at 160mm.
For easier cargo access, all of the gates can be opened from all three sides, making loading and unloading more convenient. Moreover, the bed sits at a low 750mm off the ground. Galvanized steel plates are used for the entire bed to prevent rust and corrosion. Want to start a food truck business? The Carry can be transformed to that as well (no pricing has been revealed yet for that body type).
Open the doors and the Carry greets occupants with a simple yet functional cabin. There are plenty of cubby holes to put stuff in, as well as a lower panel box in front of the dashboard. A new 1-DIN head unit provides in-car entertainment.
It supports AM/FM radio, USB, and MP3. Instead of a floor-mounted shifter, Suzuki replaced it on the dashboard to free up space for the driver and passenger. Finally, the 2020 Carry comes with air-conditioning for better riding comfort.
Powering the all-new Carry is a 1.5-liter K15B-C four-cylinder engine. It replaces the previous two-cylinder turbo-diesel and it produces 96 PS at 5600 rpm along with 135 Nm of torque at 4400 rpm. It benefits from multipoint injection and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission that drives the rear wheels.
