It’s only been two months\ since Honda revealed the all-new HR-V or Vezel, as it is called in Japan. Compared to the outgoing model, the 2021 HR-V looks very different. In particular, it has been redesigned from front to back, with the obvious being the sleek headlights and large grille.
Overall, the redesign is refreshing. But it’s not as sporty looking compared to the previous generation HR-V. Fortunately, Mugen has released its complete lineup of parts available for the HR-V/Vezel. Interestingly, it’s not just about aesthetics. But more on that later. First, let’s check out the kits available.
The Mugen kit for the HR-V is composed of a front lip, side skirts, and a rear bumper extension. These three parts alone already give the crossover a more aggressive look. Other parts available from the Mugen catalog include a front grille garnish. It’s perfect for those that aren’t fans of the current design since it covers the upper half of the grille with black trim. Customers can choose between two roof spoiler designs as well – one being more aggressive than the other. Rounding up the exterior upgrades are the tailgate spoiler, door mirror covers, and side decal.
For the wheels, two designs are available for the HR-V. The first is a multi-spoke unit with a twist design called the CU10. It’s finished in black with contrast silver on the lip. The other wheel, called MDW, features a more stylish design mostly finished in chrome.
As mentioned earlier, Mugen also offers performance upgrades for the 2021 HR-V. The first is a sports muffler, which the company says “improves exhaust efficiency and sound deadening performance”. The other is a high-performance air filter that uses the same materials used on their Super GT racers. Mugen also offers its line of oils and filters for the HR-V.
Other Mugen parts available for the HR-V include door visors, mattings, and scuff plates. Fans will be glad to know that Mugen oil filler caps are also available. Those interested can check out the entire parts list for the HR-V on the Mugen website.
Should Honda Cars Philippines Inc (HCPI) bring the all-new HR-V here in the future, they'll also bring in the Mugen parts catalog along with the crossover itself.
