By August 1, 2017, there will be a new head of Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC). Mutsuhiro Oshikiri will assume the role of MMPC president as Yoshiaki Kato will be working for Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL). By the end of his term as MMPC president, Kato completes just over two years of work in the country.
Before moving to the Philippines, Oshikiri is currently the head of MMAL, a title he has held for the past five years. The incoming MMPC president has been part of the company since 1980. Since 1987, he has been one of the key figures in MMAL, as well as other markets. Prior to leading the Australian subsidiary of the brand, Oshikiri also headed Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Caribbean. That said, he will be bringing in 37 years of experience to MMPC.
Osamu Masuko, Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) said that personnel changes will enhance key markets of the brand. "We are strengthening and diversifying our management team around the world, ensuring that we seize future growth opportunities in important markets such as the Philippines and Australia. I look forward to continuing to work with Mr Oshikiri, Mr Signoriello and Mr Kato in their new roles," said Masuko.
When his term ends, Yoshiaki Kato completes over two years of work in the country. Under his watch, Kato oversaw the launch of the all-new Montero Sport, the debut of the refreshed Mirage hatchback, the local plant's move to Santa Rosa, Laguna and MMPC's participation in the CARS Program, to name a few. For his new role, Kato will be working as the Chief Executive Coordinator MMAL.
