Chery Auto Philippines equips the Tiggo 5X, Tiggo 7, and Tiggo 8 with N95 cabin filters

Chery Auto Philippines just announced that they are taking a key step to making their crossovers better and safer to be in.

Recently, the distributor announced that their vehicles will have N95 standard air filtration in the airconditioning cabin filters. Featuring a three-phase filtration system, Chery claims it is capable of filtering airborne particles that measure 0.3 microns or higher.

The added safety feature is now available for the Tiggo 5X, Tiggo 7, and the Tiggo 8 models. Each N95 filter is made from cutting-edge manufacturing and material technologies using a fine mesh of synthetic electrostatic polymer fibers. With it, the special fabric is capable of filtering out hazardous particles including bacteria and viruses.

The N95 standard filter works via three-phases. First, it uses a percolator filter which blocks larger particles like dust and outdoor pollution (i.e. diesel soot). Next, the electrostatic fiber mesh filters out particles as small as 0.3 microns with 95% efficiency, hence its name. Finally, an activated charcoal layer filters out harmful gases and deodorizes certain odors.

Besides filtering harmful particles and viruses from entering the Tiggo 5X, Tiggo 7, and Tiggo 8 crossovers, Chery claims that the filter also helps dehydrate and remove moisture from the cabin air. This effectively reduces the lifespan of most germs which helps in maintaining a clean environment.

Tiggo units that were exported after February 2020 will have the N95 cabin filter as standard. Meanwhile, units that are currently in stock in dealerships will be fitted with the N95 filters. Interested customers that wish to have theirs come with the N95 filter system are eligible for free replacement once they bring their vehicles in for servicing upon schedule.
