Chevrolet gave showgoers at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit at treat by revealing the Corvette Z06 Convertible with the Aero package.
The Corvette Z06 Convertible is built on a rigid aluminum frame structure featuring blacked out headlights integrated with LED daytime running lights, front splitter, mesh grill and ventilated carbon-fiber hood. The rear of the Z06 is fitted with distinctive taillights, spoiler and large bumper.
As an added feature, the Z06 can be fitted with an optional carbon-fiber aero package which can be finished in either carbon flash paint or a visible carbon-fiber finish. The aero package includes carbon-fiber front splitter, rocker panels and a larger rear spoiler.
Inside Chevrolet says the Z06 Convertible has a “driver-focused” cockpit along with a flat-bottomed steering wheel. The interior is equipped with soft-touch materials and has two seating choices: a GT seat and a Competition Sport seat. The automaker says the frame structure for both seats is made of magnessium.
It is powered by a 6.2-liter LT4 V8 enigne that delivers 659 PS and 880 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed manual or eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission.
