China's GAC Motor has announced its plan to reveal a compact sport-utility vehicle at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next week.

Dubbed as the GS4, GAC Motor General Manager Wu Song said the debut of its SUV is a “milestone” for the company because it shows that their “products have met international standards.” Moreover, the Chinese automaker says the GS4 is designed to adapt various traffic conditions such as bumpy roads without compromising comfort.

At first glance, it seems that the exterior styling of the GS4 took design cues from the Land Rover Evoque though GAC Motor says they styled the GS4 to have its own identity. Up front, the rendered image suggests that the GS4 will have sharp-looking headlights wrapping around the fender. It also has an aggressive bumper, sculpted hood and decorative trims that allows the GS4 to have an sporty appearance.

GAC Motor says the GS4 will be powered either by a 1.3-liter or a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. However, power output details are yet to be released by the Chinese automaker.

The Chinese automaker will also launch the WITSTAR and GA6 GT concept cars at the 2015 North American International Auto Show.
