Limited to 56 units
Chevrolet is making all the right noises (literally and figuratively) at this weekend's 24 Hours of Le Mans.
While it's becoming the subject of memes all throughout social media with its size, the NASCAR-spec Camaro ZL1 sounds glorious as it goes around the Circuit de la Sarthe. Driven by renowned race car drivers Jimmie Johnson, Mike Rockenfeller and 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button, the Garage 56 Camaro ZL1 entry is proving to be faster than the smaller, and more nimble GTLM-spec race cars over a lap of Le Mans.
It quickly became clear that the special race car needed to have a road car counterpart that would represent the accomplishment. With that being the case, Chevrolet has announced they will be making a 2024 Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition.
Limited to 56 units, the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition will come with the Riptide Blue exterior color with a graphics package that pulls in colors and themes from the race car. That includes thin gold stripes that accent a larger white stripe running from hood to rear decklid.
On the hood, the ZL1 Garage 56 Edition has the NASCAR 75th Anniversary logo that matches the prominent placement on the race car.
Also, a special Garage 56 badge will be seen on the front fenders, while a Hendrick Motorsports logo is added to the sail panels like the ones on the race car. Matte black mirrors and a black fuel door with carbon fiber inserts are additional exterior highlights, while the interior will get Garage 56 emblems on the floormats and a Garage 56 steering wheel badge.
As for its unique aero bits, the ZL1 Garage 56 Edition will feature the 1LE front fascia that comes with a front chin splitter. At the back, a NASCAR Cup car style ducktail will be placed. To finish it off, the ZL1 Garage 56 Edition will roll on a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar tires.
The Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition will enter production later this year and will go on sale in the US market by 2024.
