A new MINI is slated for a November 18, 2013 launch in the MINI plant in Oxford. The November launch will coincide with the celebration of automotive designer Sir Alec Issigonis’ 107th birthday. The designer was a significant figure in the revolutionary development of the original Mini.

Alongside with the Great Britain festivities, the new MINI will also be launched internationally. The world will see the 2014 model on November 20, 2013. Launch sites will be at the Tokyo Motor Show in Japan to be followed by the Los Angeles Motor Show in California, USA. However, the sale will start later during the first quarter of 2014.

The production of the new MINI will remain in Oxford. The start of production and the world premiere will be new milestones for the MINI Plant that has produced cars for more than 100 years.

Introduced in 1959, the Mini became the foundation for succeeding small and compact cars. The principles behind the first Mini became the framework for the new MINI design. With new engines and chassis technologies, MINI connected innovations and refined premium quality that has set the new benchmark for driving enjoyment in its class.
