New Acura NSX Prototype teases fans with Ohio track run

Scheduled to debut in 2015, the NSX appeared at the racetrack for testing session

Staying true to the announcement, the Acura NSX Prototype made its track debut in Ohio. The track test happened prior the Honda Indy200 IndyCar Series race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. A member of the company’s engineering development team drove the car in the 3.9km racetrack.

The mid-engine prototype gets its power from a direct-injected V6 engine paired with the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) system. The latter is a new high-performance hybrid system designed for the all-wheel drive to improve torque and efficiency. The car also features a new dual-clutch transmission.

NBC Sports Network supposedly had a live broadcast of this track debut. However, a video in Acura's Youtube page surfaced showing the same NSX Prototype in a blue Acura livery. It can mean that we might be able to see the new NSX participating in racing events any time soon.
