A new startup automotive company from Dubai has previewed its upcoming roadster named Design-1.
Jannarelly Automotive was founded by Anthony Jannarelly as well as Frederic Juillot. The brand plans to launch the prototype of the Design-1 in February 2016.
According to Jannarelly Automotive, the Design-1 roadster is conceived to be a “high-performance, customizable sports car.” The automaker added that the vehicle is a tribute to the “golden age of sports cars.”
The Design-1 features a welded steel tubular frame with a chassis made of structural aluminum panels. Jannarelly Automotive says the body of the vehicle is either made of fiberglass or carbon fiber. It also has projector headlamps, LED indicators and rear fog lamps. The Design-1 is finished off with 16-inch tires.
Dimension-wise, the Design-1 measures 3860mm long, 1840mm wide and 1080mm tall with a wheelbase of 2425mm.
Powering the Design-1 is a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 308 PS and 371 Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Jannarelly Automotive claims the vehicle can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 220 km/h.
