2020 may have just started, but Subaru is already making a lot of noise this year. At this year's Singapore Motor Show, the updated Subaru Impreza has made its regional debut, so you can count on that coming soon to the Philippines. So what have they changed in their C-segment (compact car) entry?
Subaru gave the Impreza a new bumper this year by making it look like it has a deeper apron and slightly more presence on the road. Air intakes and foglight housings were also changed for the 2020 model year. The grill has also been redesigned, switching from a honeycomb pattern to slatted design. In the case of the sedan, the headlights and tail lights appear to be carried over from the current look.
Step inside the 2020 Impreza and the differences might not be as prominent as the ones seen outside. There is, however, more gloss black panels and an upgraded infotainment screen. New convenience features, on the other hand, include a front camera, speed-sensing door locks, and tilt-down passenger side mirror to make reverse parking easier.
Under the hood, it's all the same as the 2017 edition. It's powered by a 2.0-liter boxer mill that's good for 156 PS and 196 Nm of torque. Shifting is done via Subaru's Lineartronic continuously variable transmission. Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is, of course, standard.
When will we be getting the 2020 Subaru Impreza locally? That's yet to be determined but this year's Manila International Auto Show seems like a good bet.
