JAC's best-selling crossover just got an upgrade. Triesenburg Auto Corp. (TAC), the official distributor of JAC cars in the country, just launched the 2021 S2 with an updated exterior and interior. Not only that, but JAC also gave it more standard equipment than the pre-facelift model

Beginning with the most noticeable of changes, the front fascia gets a refreshed look. It gets a bolder chrome grille, reshaped foglights, and tweaked headlights that now incorporated the LED daytime running lights. Before, the DRLs were located just above the foglights.

The rear, on the other hand, relatively remains the same. Perhaps the only changes the rear received are the slightly updated taillights, and a new, simpler-looking rear bumper. Rounding the exterior changes are the new 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 205/55/R16 tires.

Much like the rear of the S2, the interior also received a subtle revision. The hooded gauge cluster is no more as it's been replaced with a simple instrument panel with an integrated multi-info display. Then there's the huge 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB, and smartphone mirror link.

Other key changes JAC made to the interior of the S2 are the faux carbon fiber panels, red contrast stitching throughout the cabin, leather seats across the range, and a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel. What else is available on the 2021 S2? It gets automatic halogen headlights, adjustable headlight leveling, front and rear fog lamps, roof rails, and cruise control.

Powering the 2021 S2 is the familiar 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated inline-four. It still makes 111 PS at 6000 rpm, along with 146 Nm of torque. Depending on the variant, the engine can be mated to either a five-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The front axle is suspended on MacPherson struts, while the rear gets a torsion beam suspension.

In terms of safety equipment, all variants of the 2021 S2 come with the following: dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), brake assist, stability control, ISOFIX rear anchors for child seats, rear parking sensors, and a reverse camera.

Pricing of the 2021 JAC S2 is as follows:
