In the Philippines, no other car manufacturer is well known for hatchbacks except for Honda. The launch of the Jazz sometime in 2004 helped solidify this statement. With funky styling, very fuel efficient engines, and a very flexible and roomy interior, hatchbacks had never been the same.

For 2006, Honda raises the hatchback bar once more with the face lifted Jazz. A redesigned front bumper with integrated front chin spoiler and air dam, grill, and body colored headlight inside trim now comprise the front end, making it the most aggressive Jazz ever. The rear end, on the other hand, is now complemented by a more pronounced rear hatch spoiler, LED-type third brake lights, LED taillights, and integrated rear skirts. The side profile on the other hand is updated with new design side skirts and 15" alloy wheels. New colors like Bluish Silver and Purplish Blue complete the eye candy, attention-grabbing exterior profile.

Interior appointments remain the same with its predecessor. Two-tone black and gray upholstery suggests durability while retaining chic styling. Of course, Honda's global small car platform is not complete without the ULT seating concept, a feature that allows almost endless seating configurations to accommodate cargo of different sizes.

The 2006 Jazz is still powered by the 1.3 liter i-Dsi engine and 1.5 liter VTEC engine. The former is well proven for its very stingy fuel consumption while providing decent performance. The latter is for those who want more performance and spunk out of a hatchback. A 5-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) are available for both engine variants.

SRP for the 2006 Honda Jazz is PHP 650,000 for the 1.3 S M/T variant and PHP 690,000 for the 1.3 S CVT variant. The VTEC variants cost PHP 731,000 and PHP 772,000 for the manual and CVT versions, respectively.
