Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has just confirmed that the mysterious model they have been teasing for the past couple of months is indeed the updated 2016 Outlander. The automaker recently released new teaser images of the crossover which is set to make its global debut on April 2 at the 2015 New York Auto Show.
Unlike the earlier teaser image that only showed the headlight and grill design of the Outlander, the new teaser images somewhat show the front fascia and rear end of refreshed SUV. Its front end gets styling cues from the Outlander PHEV Concept-S which consist of sharp-looking headlights, an aggressive bumper and a two-bar grill.
The rear on the other hand slightly differs from the concept as Mitsubishi decided to use what appears to be large rectangular taillights and a different bumper.
Mitsubishi has yet to provide the Outlander's technical specifications but they did say that they have done over 100 engineering and design improvements on the SUV including better handling, greater throttle response, lower NVH levels and a “more eloquent yet functional interior space”.
