Toyota has revealed its updated 2016 RAV4 at the New York Auto Show along with the introduction of a new hybrid variant.
The most obvious change done to the updated RAV4 is the front fascia with its slimmer grill and reshaped headlights. Its front bumper gets new lower air intake. Revised rocker panels, a restyled bumper and a new tailgate design complete the RAV4's updated exterior
Changes done to the interior are subtle compared to the exterior. To enhance cabin feel, Toyota has added more soft touch materials and revised the instrument cluster. The model update also adds two more USB and 12 volt power outlets. Infotainment is provided by the available 4.2 inch TFT multi information display in the revised gauge cluster. A 7 inch screen is also available.
The biggest technical highlight in the new RAV4 is the addition of a hybrid variant. Toyota claims the Hybrid is more powerful than its gas variant and return significantly better fuel economy. The Birds Eye View Monitor is another new technological feature. A camera mounted on each corner giving the driver a 360 degree view when parking.
On the safety front, the new RAV4 will be available with Toyota Safety Sense. This tech bundle will come with Pre-Collision warning, Forward collision warning, lane departure alert, automatic high beams, pedestrian pre-collision system and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.
