Check out the available accessories NISMO made for the all-new Nissan Frontier
Whenever we think of NISMO, we often associate it with Nissan's in-house tuning division and fast cars like the GT-R. With 600 PS and 652 Nm of torque from its twin-turbo V6, the GT-R NISMO can put more powerful sports cars (and some supercars) to shame with its speed and acceleration.
Aside from the GT-R, other Nissan models available with NISMO performance upgrades include the Sentra, the 370Z, the Patrol, and even the all-electric Leaf. But it seems Nissan wants to associate the NISMO brand with more than high speed and handling.
Over in the US, Nissan has revealed an all-new Frontier modified with a wide array of NISMO accessories. But instead of just providing power upgrades, NISMO installed plenty of off-road goodies on the pick-up truck instead.
Called 'NISMO Off-Road parts', the extensive accessory list gives the Frontier pick-up truck more than just an aesthetic upgrade. For starters, it gets 4-inch, waterproof off-road lights. With 3,060 lumens of maximum illumination, Nissan says they're guaranteed to help drivers see better in uneven terrain.
Those looking to maximize the amount of gear they can carry can also get the NISMO Overland Bed Rack. Available in either low or high (seen in the picture) versions, the powder-coated steel rack will help amplify the pick-up's cargo-carrying capacity. Nissan did not mention any load ratings yet.
Thinking of spending a night in the great outdoors? You will be happy to know NISMO also made a rooftop tent. Designed to be a simple set-up, the tent can accommodate two people and has a weight capacity of 600 lbs (or about 272 kg). The tent itself is made of durable, weather-resistant polyester canvas with mesh panels for ventilation. The tent can simply be attached to a vehicle's roof rails or via the Overland Bed Rack mentioned earlier.
Last but not least is the NISMO Off-Road Performance Exhaust. It's made from high-quality polished stainless steel and comes with a built-in cat-back system that NISMO claims will provide a deep and sporty exhaust note. The upgrade bolts on easily using factory-mount hangers – negating the need for modifications.
For now, the lights, bed rack, roof tent, and performance exhaust can only be fitted on the 2022 Frontier (and older 2005 – 2021 Frontier models).
Given that these are meant for off-road vehicles, maybe Nissan can also make these available for the current-generation Navara in a future update.
