Sahs joined Nissan in 1992, he was based in Japan for 20 years. During the course of that period, the Vietnamese-American designer is responsible for the Nissan Titan, as well as the third-generation Nissan Cube, both of which represent bold designs from the marque.

Some of the concepts he drew up include the Nissan Resonance, which previewed the Murano, Nissan Serenity and led the design team for the Infiniti Synaptiq. On top of that, he also did the interior for the 2001 Nissan GT-R concept, and other Nissan vehicles. Needless to say, his design portfolio is an impressive one.

With his new role, he is now in charge of leading the South American design team in creating models for that region and, possibly, for the world. From there, the team will be designing cars to suit the preferences of South America. Besides Brazil, Nissan also has satellite design studios in London, San Diego, and Beijing.

These four studios are then under the eye of Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan's senior vice president and head of Design who, incidentally, hails from Latin America.
