How many times have you driven out in a dusty, muddy or just plain dirty car? Rhetoric question.
Well Nissan Europe is developing technology so that you’ll never have to go through something so embarrassing ever again.
They have begun tests on an ‘innovative paint technology’ that can repel ‘mud, rain and everyday dirt’ so that one day, actually cleaning your own car will be a thing of the past.
Engineers are experimenting on super-hydrophobic and oleophobic paint applied on the prototype, which is a Nissan Note. It prevents water and oils from sticking to it by ‘creating a protective layer of air between the paint and environment.’
Nissan calls it the Ultra-Ever Dry® and is currently testing it in a variety of conditions to see how it will hold up to ‘real dirt in the real world.’
