Nissan exec confirms next-gen Navara coming in 2026
Nissan Australia's managing director confirms 2026 launch date for next-generation Navara

The third-generation D23 Navara has been around for more than a decade, and Nissan could use a new or significantly updated model to keep up with its rivals. Well, finally, it’s going to happen soon.
The next-generation Nissan Navara is locked in for a global reveal in 2026. Andrew Humberstone, Nissan Oceania’s managing director, has confirmed the news with Drive.
According to Humberstone, the next-generation Navara will be engineered to meet the tough demands of pickup buyers, which include traditional customers who use the pickup as a workhorse, and others as a family vehicle. It’s a purpose that mirrors the same qualities that buyers want out of a pickup in the Philippine market.

Back in March this year, Nissan outlined the new products it will unveil in the coming years, and one of those includes the next-generation Navara. Based on the teaser photo from March, the next-generation Navara is very likely to have shared bits with the Mitsubishi Triton – a claim that goes as early as 2020, when previous Nissan COO Ashwani Gupta was still at the helm.
While Nissan is yet to reveal any details about the next-generation Navara, the platform sharing with the Triton means the two could use a common powertrain and common transmissions, but each company is likely to design its own body to sit on top of the ladder frame. The next-generation Navara will likely be built at Mitsubishi’s factory in Thailand.
With that in mind, let’s hope the Philippine market gets it sooner rather than later.
