An even more extreme GT-R could be coming to our islands

It seems Nissan Philippines may be up to something very interesting... one that fires up over 600 horsepower.

After launching the 2017 GT-R last year, it appears that Nissan Philippines may be bringing in another, more special version: the Nissan GT-R NISMO.

Nissan PH to bring in the 2018 GT-R Nismo

This bit of information came to us via a social media post from a sales executive of Nissan Quezon Avenue that stated that their dealer is accepting orders for the Nissan GT-R NISMO. If the post is to be believed, the estimated price of the 2017 GT-R NISMO could be somewhere around the Php 14 million mark; it's worth noting that it's nearly double the price of the standard GT-R Premium currently on offer.

The estimated pricing is perhaps because the GT-R NISMO is the most powerful variant of Nissan's halo car and bears the name of their tuning arm: NISMO, or Nissan Motorsport.

The GT-R NISMO still uses the same 3.8-liter VR38 twin turbo V6, but now outputs 608 horsepower. It features a custom aero package developed by Nissan's official tuner. The V-motion grille has been enlarged and the sides of the front bumper have been reshaped to enhance aerodynamics. At the rear, most noticeable change to the GT-R NISMO is the large carbon fiber spoiler for greater downforce.

Also special to the GT-R NISMO are the forged 20-inch NISMO wheels made by Rays Engineering. The six-spoke design is lighter than the one found on the standard GT-R, reducing unsuprung weight. The suspension has also been tweaked by NISMO, giving it a stiffer and firm ride. Inside, it comes with a NISMO exclusive gauge cluster and Recaro seats with red suede inserts.

If the post by the sales executive is correct, the GT-R NISMO could very well be arriving by November 2017, and that GT-R enthusiasts can start placing reservations with the Nissan High Performance Center.
