After providing a glimpse of their upcoming crossover last January via a teaser website, Nissan announced that the upcoming Kicks will be the official car of the 2016 Rio Olympics in production form.
While not entirely revealed, it appears Nissan did use styling cues from the original concept crossover. The front fascia gets V-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs), along with a large V-motion grill and Nissan emblem.
No official reveal date was provided though it is highly likely that it will be revealed during this year's olympic games slated from August 5 to August 21.
First revealed in concept form during the 2014 Sao Paolo International Motor Show, the exterior design of the Kicks Concept takes inspiration from the energetic nature and vibe of Brazil. It features the brand's updated design philosophy while incorporating a sleeker, more aggressive finish.
Greenlighted for production last January 2016, it will soon be manufactured at Nissan's factory located at the Resende Industrial Complex in Rio De Janeiro.
Nissan plans to introduce it to other markets, depending on how it will be received in Latin America.
