Nissan Philippines Inc., has introduced a new variant for the NP300 Navara pickup. Called the Navara Sport Edition, the new variant adds a sporty twist to the company's pickup.
"We are proud and very excited to unveil the latest variant of our award-winning pickup. Continuing the legacy of Nissan's long pickup history, the brand once again exhibits innovation that excites with the new Navara Sport Edition, answering the call of the consumers who are looking for a pickup that offers riding comfort, first-in-class features and a sportier look," said Ramesh Narasimhan, president and Managing Director of Nissan Philippines Inc.
The Navara Sport edition gets a unique honeycomb grille along with a front skirt and new foglight housings. Stepboards for the Sport Edition are finished in dark chrome, so too is it's rear bumper. A roll bar has been fitted to the new variant and also comes with LED driving lights which, NPI says, adds to the sporty character of the Navara. The Navara Sport Edition rides on exclusive 18-inch allow wheels with a two tone finish. Furthermore, the new variant comes exclusively in two color options: Riptide Blue and Aspen White.
Nissan also gave the Navara Sport Edition an upgraded interior. Its steering wheel, shift knob, armrest and door trims are now trimmed in leather. Like most Nissans, the Navara Sport Edition is equipped with Zero Gravity seats which were designed alongside NASA engineers.
Under the hood is the familiar 2.5 liter turbodiesel that powers the standard Navaras. It is then mated to the segment's sole 7-speed automatic transmission. The Navara Sport Edition is available in two drivetrain configurations, either rear wheel drive or four wheel drive. For the two wheel drive models, power output is rated at 163 PS and 403 Nm of torque. Four wheel drive models on the other hand cranks out 190 PS and 450 Nm or torque.
