Still think hybrid-electric vehicles are boring? Nissan wants to change that notion with the Note e-Power Nismo. Debuting late last year in Japan, it features aesthetic upgrades, as well as a slightly more powerful hybrid powertrain.

But what if you preferred it in a darker, more aggressive finish? Then why not go for the Note e-Power Nismo Black Limited.

Now while it may look similar to the standard Note e-Power Nismo, the new Black Limited edition gets a healthy dose of blacked-out aesthetics. Both the hood and roof are painted black. In addition, the shark fin antenna, side mirror caps, and roof spoiler are also finished in black which further give the hatchback a sportier appearance.

Like the standard Nismo offering, streaks of red can be seen throughout the hatchback. The red accent can be seen at the front bumper, side skirts, as well as the side mirrors. Rounding everything up are the stylish alloy wheels, revised front fascia, and the new exhaust which have all been carried over from the standard Note e-Power Nismo.

Powering the Note e-Power Nismo is the same 1.2-liter engine. It produces 136 PS along with 320 Nm of torque. Prefer the Note with a traditional engine? The Note Nismo S is powered by a naturally-aspirated 1.6-liter engine and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

Want to take a closer look at the Note e-Power Nismo Black Limited? It will be shown in the metal at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show in the coming weeks.

While the all-electric Leaf is heading to Philippine shores in 2020,or we wouldn't mind actually having the Note (or its e-Power variation) launched here in the Philippines as well. Fingers crossed Nissan actually brings their B-segment fighter to the country.
