Nissan PH drops teaser of all-new Almera

PH-spec 2022 Nissan Almera to have turbo power

After introducing the refreshed Navara and Terra, Nissan Philippines Inc (NPI) will launch another model in the country, the all-new Almera. Nissan confirmed this after posting teaser images of the upcoming sedan on their website.

Despite the teaser images showing only parts of the sedan, we already have an idea of what it will look like. Last March, an eagle-eyed reader spotted the subcompact sedan being tested on local roads. Thanks to the sighting, we know the new Almera will feature a more stylish exterior and adopt a similar design to the Thai-spec model. But what else can we expect from the upcoming model?

For starters, we now know that the 2022 Almera will use a new turbocharged engine. It will be similar to the Thai-spec model which uses a 1.0-liter turbocharged inline-three that produces 120 PS with 152 Nm of torque. It will then send power to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

As mentioned earlier, the Almera now looks sportier than ever. It comes with sweeping headlights, eye-catching LED daytime running lights, a bold V-Motion front grille, elegant LED taillights, and a more rakish roofline that slopes towards the rear.

The interior will also receive a complete redesign featuring a new three-spoke steering wheel and a more upscale dashboard. Exact specifications have yet to be revealed. However, we can expect the sedan to come with features such as touchscreen infotainment, automatic climate control, a new multi-info display, and steering wheel-mounted media controls.

Nissan Philippines has yet to announce when the all-new Almera will officially debut. But with the first set of teaser images released, we might not have to wait long.
