At the launch of the Almera there was another bit of notable news from none other than NMPI's own president, Allen Chen.
Mr. Chen said that the Almera is only the first of 3 models to be launched by NMPI over the next year or so. Mr. Chen's remarks points us in the direction of the Nissan Note, a global market hatchback that debuted in Japan in July 2012. The Note is powered by a 1.2 liter 3-cylinder engine.
The other model is the B17 Nissan Sylphy, poised to replace the Mexican-made Nissan Sentra 200 (B16) that NMPI launched a few years back. It's still unclear though if the B17 will be named Sentra or Sylphy, but it will be sourced from Nissan's plant in Samut Prakan, Thailand.
Also notable is the possibility of the return of the Z to the Philippine market, while NMPI execs have stated that the GT-R will not be officially launched.
