Nissan releases August 2014 sales report for Asia and Oceania markets


Australia's sales up by 7.8-%

Nissan has just released the August 2014 sales report for Asia and Oceania markets. Based on the report, Nissan sold 20,210 units for the month of August, a 14.9-percent decline from a year earlier.

Despite the regional dip Nissan registered increased sales in Australia by 7.8-percent from 4,798 in 2013 to 5,170 this year so far. The automaker said that the sales of the newly launched X-Trail and Qashqai continued to gain momentum with 720 and 630 units sold for the month of August, respectively.

Nissan's overall sales in Indonesia has also increased by 2.5-percent from 4,733 units in 2013 to 4,850 this year. With the launch of the Datsun Go+ last May, the seven seater MPV has registered a sales of 2,370 units, a 24.5-percent increase over the previous month.


Moreover, Nissan's Singapore operation contributed a sales growth of 315-percent versus last year for the brand's Light Goods Vehicle segment.

However, Nissan's sales went down by 38.6-percent in Thailand with 7,209 units last year to only 4,430 this 2014. Subsequently, sales in Malaysia has also decreased by 35.5-percent with 4,698 units in 2013 to 3,030 this year.
