Too bad we won't get it
Nissan has launched the next generation Qashqai in Europe, a model that occupies a sizable chunk of the automaker's European sales volume with over 2 million produced since 2007.
Nissan’s Qashqai is the brand's entry into the compact crossover segment, appealing to both C-segment drivers looking for additional style, technology and excitement as well as downsizing buyers seeking greater efficiency. The all-new Qashqai will go on sale in selected global markets from January 2014.
The Qashqai shares many of the design cues that Nissan introduced with the X-Trail that was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The Qashqai gets a series of downsized engines from a 1.2 liter gasoline turbo engine, a 1.6 liter gasoline turbo engine, and a pair of turbodiesels with 1.5 and 1.6 liters of displacement. An Xtronic CVT is available with the 1.6 dci engine.
The Qashqai is a European market model only. Locally, the upcoming X-Trail (below) will fill the same position as the Qashqai in the compact crossover class.
