Nissan debuted the Sentra Nismo Concept at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show as the brand expressed its commitment to expand its factory performance lineup. The Sentra Nismo is based on the latest generation Sentra (Sylphy in other markets) and infused with several performance and design tuner elements.
The exterior receives race-inspired elements like a honeycomb grill, enlarge air inlets for the front bumper, flared fenders, lower front and side spoilers, 370Z-inspired diffuser integrated into the rear bumper, and finished off with a trunk-lip spoiler. The aerodynamic parts are highlighted by thin Nismo red accents. The headlights and tail lights also receive a smoked effect. The car rolls on 19-inch forged aluminum wheels from RAYS wrapped by 225/35R19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
The interior features a race-inspired cockpit with black leather/Alcantara combination Recaro Sportster front seats, Alcantara wrapped Nismo steering wheel with red leather marking on the 12 o’clock position, Nismo shift knob and shift boot. The instrument cluster features a satin carbon fiber finish with dark chrome accents, while anodized red Nismo rings surround the start button and tachometer.
Under the hood is a 1.8-liter direct-injection turbocharged engine taken from the Juke Nismo RS. The engine is capable of 243 PS, and 325 Nm of toque, and is mated to a 6-speed Nismo-tuned manual gearbox with a limited slip differential.
For handling duties, a Nismo-tuned suspension is fitted and the steering also received tweaks as well. Stopping power is provided by red-painted Brembo brakes derived from the 370Z.
While we eagearly wait for the arrival of the standard Sentra that cerainly looks more appealing than its predecessor, the Nismo version certainly makes it even more appealing.
