Today, the Department of Public Works and Highways and the NLEX Corporations conducted the final inspection and dry run of the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10. With that, there is now a set date for its public opening next week.

The newly constructed expressway will be passable to motorists next Tuesday on February 26, 2019. To recap, the new highway spans 5.65 kilometers and traverses the cities of Valenzuela, Malabon, and Caloocan.

This new elevated highway seeks to lessen travel time to and from Mac Arthur Highway, Valenzuela City, C3 Road, and Caloocan City. DPWH secretary Mark Villar said that travel time from C3 Road to NLEX can take as little as 10 minutes. The secretary adds that the new road will also help motorists gain easier access to NLEX as it bypasses the EDSA-Balintawak area, as well as the Balintawak toll plaza.

NLEX Harbor Link 10 also serves as a direct route from the expressway to the port area, and vice versa for delivery vehicles. With that, the road project will is set to benefit around 30,000 motorists per day. Even with major parts of the highway completed, the DPWH and NLEX Corporation will continue expanding the expressway with the Caloocan interchange soon to be partially opened for the public and will have Harbor Link 10,  C3-R-10 section, and the NLEX Connector converge on one another.
