Toll Regulatory Board approves additional toll fees on NLEX
Motorists using the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) will notice a major adjustment in their toll fees starting today, November 6, 2017.
The NLEX management has announced the implementation of an increase as per the provisional approval of the new rate by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) last October 18, 2017.
With 64 new lane-kilometers added to the NLEX - the construction of a new carriageway and two new bridges between Bgy. Dau and Bgy. Sta. Ines in Mabalacat City, the new lanes between Bgy. Sta. Rita, Guiguinto and San Fernando City and the 5-kilometer Candaba Viaduct that has been expanded to 2x3 lanes - amounting to Php 2.5 billion, the TRB provisionally approved the new toll fee matrix for all vehicles classes that will use the NLEX.
On the route from EDSA Balintawak or Mindanao Avenue to Sta. Ines, Mabalacat City, Class 1 vehicles will pay an additional Php 18, Class 2 vehicles (buses and trucks) get an added Php 46, while Class 3 vehicles (large trucks/trailers) pay an additional Php 56.
The new adjustment to the NLEX toll fees do not affect the existing NLEX Open System, which means that all vehicles travelling within Quezon City, Valenzuela City, Meycauayan and Marilao sections will pay the existing rates. Likewise, the toll fees for the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway system (SCTEX) remain unchanged regardless of the vehicle class.
