More relief coming soon for motorists as a new portion of the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 will opened this month. After opening the elevated expressway last year, NLEX Corporation, along with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), recently announced that the C3-R10 Section of the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 is set to be partially opened soon.
According to DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, the project is now 75% complete and they are on track in opening the C3 to Dagat-Dagatan Avenue section by February.“The project is now 75 percent complete. We are on track to open the C3 to Dagat-Dagatan Avenue by February and the entire C3-R10 Section by March to help decongest major roads such as EDSA and C5. With the full completion of the project, we expect to reduce travel time from Port Area to NLEX to just 10 minutes,” said Villar.
Featured as one of the legacy projects of the Duterte Administration, the 2.6-kilometer C3-R10 Section from Caloocan Interchange, C3 Road, Caloocan City to Radial Road 10, Navotas City will connect to the 5.65-kilometer NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10. It will then pass through Karuhatan, Valenzuela City, Governor Pascual Avenue in Malabon City, and 5th Ave/C3 Road in Caloocan City.
Besides decongesting traffic along major roads in Caloocan, Valenzuela and Navotas, NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 aims to significantly benefit the transport logistics industry. When fully opened, cargo trucks will have 24/7 access from the port all the way to NLEX. This will spare them from the truck ban as well as have them avoid congested roads in order to be on time for deliveries and pick ups.
“Now that the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 C3-R10 Section is about to be completed, we are aiming to contribute more to the productive capacity of the economy, generate jobs, and ease traffic congestion in Metro Manila,” said Luigi L. Bautista, NLEX Corporation president and General Manager.
