Chery Auto Philippines to continue shouldering safeguard bond for customers

Back in March 2021, Chery Auto Philippines (CAP) announced that they will be increasing the price across all their models due to the safeguard bonds. They said that a bond of PHP 74,800 will be collected from each Tiggo model sold by the company

Just a few days later, the company decided to put a pin in their original statement as they announced they will shoulder the costs of the bonds for their vehicle sales for the entire month of March. That means that the prices of all Tiggo models will remain as is, and now they extended it.

For the month of April, the company will continue to retain the said prices as they will continue to absorb the safeguard bonds imposed by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). According to Rommel Sytin, president of CAP, they decided to continue shouldering the costs to help Filipino families during these uncertain times.

“In light of the difficulties of the Filipino families posed by the ongoing pandemic, we have decided to continue absorbing the safeguard tariff instead of passing it on to the consumer in the form of higher vehicle prices,” said Sytin.

He added that the use of public transportation during the pandemic is a challenge for those that need to travel to work, transport items, or attend to emergencies. By not increasing the prices, Sytin hopes that they will be able to provide quality vehicles through their Chery Tiggo crossovers.

Those looking to buy an all-new Chery can select from a wide range of crossovers. The range starts with the Tiggo 2 which has a base price of PHP 695,000. Next is the Tiggo 5X which begins at PHP 818,000. Next in the lineup is the all-new Tiggo 7 which is available at PHP 1,198,000. Last but not least is the flagship Tiggo 8 that is available at a starting price of PHP 1,280,000.

With Chery Auto Philippines continuing to shoulder the safeguard bonds until the end of April, now is a good time to buy an all-new Tiggo crossover.
