Toyota's updated A-segment fighter continues to gain interest in the Philippine market. As a way to further increase customer interest, the automaker recently released new details about the amount of features that will be available in the 2017 Wigo.
As mentioned before, the Wigo has been given a nip and tuck. A more aggressive front fascia dominates the 2017 Wigo thanks to the sharp-looking halogen projectors with guide lines, wide black grill with chrome trim and new 14-inch alloy wheels. Even more so, the 2017 Wigo gets LED combination taillights, integral turn signals on the side mirrors and a tweaked tailgate.
New fabric-trimmed seats and interior panels blanket the cabin of the 2017 Wigo. A new 6.75-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes as standard across the range. Apart from the usual AM/FM radio, CD and USB connectivity, the new touchscreen display also has navigation, Bluetooth, Aux and iPod support.
Controlling the audio system can now be done with ease as the three-spoke steering wheel now comes with audio controls as standard. A center headrest was also installed for the rear bench seat while the center lap belt has been replaced with a ceiling-mounted three-point seat belt.
All variants come with additional safety features too. While both the G and E models come with front dual SRS airbags, anti-lock brakes (ABS), seat belt reminder and headlight remind warning have been included as well.
Powering all versions of the 2017 Wigo is the new 1KR-VE inline-three that can be mated to either a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual gearbox. The engine comes with VVT-i and produces 65 PS at 6000 rpm along with 89 Nm of torque at 3600 rpm.
Six body colors are available for the 2017 Wigo which include the new Orange Metallic, Silver Mica Metallic, Gray Metallic, White, Black and Red.
Pricing of the 2017 Toyota Wigo are as follows:
Wigo 1.0 G A/T – PhP 599,000
Wigo 1.0 G M/T – Php 564,000
Wigo 1.0 E M/T – PhP 526,000
