A soft-top variant of the S-Class will soon be available after Mercedes-Benz recently released the official render of the S-Class Cabriolet. Set to debut at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz described the upcoming luxury soft top as their first flagship-level four seat since 1971.
Based on the rendering, the overall shape of the S-Class Cabriolet relatively remains the same with the hardtop version. It does however get a redesigned rear end as the quarter-flanking taillights have been replaced with horizontal-shaped combination lights.
The centerpiece of the S-Class Cabriolet is the electronically-controlled fabric soft top. It has a multi-layer configuration and a large glass rear window. When deployed, Mercedes-Benz claimed that the roof will resemble the hardtop version of the S-Class though it will be slightly longer due to the roof mechanism and storage compartment.
Exact models and engines for the upcoming cabriolet have not yet been revealed by Mercedes-Benz.
