One-of-a-kind Bugatti La Voiture Noire sold for almost PhP 1 billion
Bugatti reveals one-off La Voiture Noire, their most expensive car yet priced at $12.5 million

The words affordable and Bugatti don’t exactly go hand and hand. In fact, their ‘entry-level’ model, the standard Chiron, will already set you back around $3 million (About PhP 156,000,000). If you find the Chiron too basic, Bugatti also offers the more extreme Chiron Sport which likely adds a few hundred thousand dollars on top of the standard Chiron’s price. Then there’s the Divo, which is based on the Chiron but is limited to only 40 units and features a unique exterior design.
At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Bugatti really set a new bar by revealing a one-off model which makes the rest of their lineup look a lot more affordable.

Called the La Voiture Noire, Bugatti says it's the most expensive new car of all time, with a base price of $12.5 million (Php 652,000,000) and that’s before taxes and duties. La Voiture Noire, which translates to ‘the black car’, is a homage to Jean Bugatti’s personal Type 57SC Atlantic which was unfortunately lost after World War II.
Even if you have the money to purchase this truly one-off model, well, too late. Bugatti has announced that the La Voiture Noire has already been spoken for, disclosing only that the owner is a Bugatti enthusiast.
Reports indicate that it sold for $19 million US, or a whopping PhP 993 million... just a whisker under a billion.

It features a handcrafted carbon fiber body which appears to follow the styling of the Divo. However, Bugatti says that the one-off model takes inspiration mainly from the Type57SC Atlantic. The design similarity is clearly seen with the long fin that runs from the hood and extends all the way to the rear. Bugatti fans would also notice the 'split rear window' design of the La Voiture Noire on the engine cover. As for modern touches, these include a sleek pair of LED headlights which extends on top of the wheel arches and slim LED strip for taillights. It even has six exhaust tips.

Under the hood, it uses the same quad-turbo, 8.0-liter W16 engine found in the Chiron and Divo. Power remains the same at 1,500 PS and 1,600 Nm of torque. No photos of the interior were provided, but it should look a lot fancier than the Chiron or Divo considering it does cost $12.5 million.
