Last week, we were able to confirm that Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is set to launch the all-new Hiace Super Grandia this coming August 19. Like its predecessor, it is set to serve as the most luxurious version of the people carrier and will sit below the more extravagant Alphard.
Now, the automaker is giving those interested a good reason to actually get one as ordering books for the all-new Super Grandia is now open. You read right, TMP has just announced that you can now reserve for a Hiace Super Grandia at your nearest Toyota dealership.
As mentioned last week, all variants of the Super Grandia (including the Fabric base models) will have four captain seats. Meanwhile, high grade versions like the Elite will come with Alphard-like seats with power ottomans, and quilted leather upholstery. In addition, all Super Grandias will have dual sliding doors while the Elite will have power dual sliding units for easier ingress / egress.
Based on our reliable source, there will be a total of six variants for the 2020 Hiace Super Grandia. Prices will start at Php 2,420,000 for the entry-level Fabric and will top out at Php 2,890,000 for the top-of-the-line Elite 2-Tone. And since the Super Grandia will have no mechanical differences, it's highly likely that it will have the 2.8-liter turbo-diesel engine under the hood along with a six-speed automatic transmission.
We're curious, however, if it will have a multi-link suspension at the back since the Granvia (its name in other markets) ditches the leaf spring rear. We'll have to confirm that at the launch day itself.
