After opening applications for the all-new Ford GT supercar in mid-April and with concrete information that it will be made available in the Philippines, the Ford GT website was swamped with visitors configuring their Ford GTs to serious applicants sending completed entries which included produced videos to boost their chances of owning Ford’s EcoBoost-powered, carbon-fiber supercar.
Ford received a total of 10,800 applications but only 6,506 were fully completed and valid for processing.
"We're excited by the amount of enthusiasm fans are showing for the new Ford GT. This initial application window is just one of many ways fans and potential owners will have to connect with our all-new supercar even before it hits the streets," says Dave Pericak, director, Global Ford Performance.
Potential owners from the 6,506 applicants will be notified in the next 90 days and if they're lucky, they could be the recipients of the first 500 new Ford GTs.
Fans of the Ford GT can still continue visiting the site to configure they virtual Ford GT. Coincidentally, Frozen White was the most used color on the configurator followed by Liquid Blue.
Ford is set to deliver the first batch of the all-new GT by the end of 2016.
