Pagani testing Huayra Roadster named for famed Ferrari collector

Pagani Huayra BC Roadster coming soon

It's not very often that supercars or hypercars get snapped up by spy photographers. Many of them tend to keep the development under wraps and have exclusive tracks at home where they can keep the cars away from the long lenses of photographers.

Pagani, however, still tests theirs on public roads, and our photographers in Europe were able to catch one in the open. Our spies say that this is the Huayra BC Roadster, the latest version of the Huayra Roadster that the low volume supercar manufacturer unveiled in 2017.

The BC stands for the late Benny Caiola, a famed Ferrari collector and one of Pagani's first ever clients. Horacio Pagani chose to honor him by naming a Huayra hardtop with his initials in 2016, and now it seems the honor will continue to the Roadster version.

The Huayra BC coupe was limited to just 20 units, and came with more power from the twin-turbo AMG engine, less weight, and and updates to improve handling. Our spies say that the BC Roadster is likely to get the same treatment, estimating that the engine could make something closer to 800 horsepower and less weight.

The prototype has a special bumper from the coupe version, but has a different diffuser and is absent a rear wing. Whether the rear aero bits will make it to the production version is anyone's guess.

The Huayra BC Roadster is expected to be a very limited run as well; likely around 20 units. And chances are all are already sold.
